One little, two little, three little Beehives ...

.....and the song ends "Ten Little Beehive Girls!" Yes! We are so excited when we get so many of these sweet girls out to mutual. They have so much fun together, and they are excellent planners and organizers as we prepare for this weekend's Olympic Carnival. Everyone is soooo excited to see the final product--games, decorations and costumes! Can't wait!

Saturday

ABC's

Shopping with five Beehives is always an adventure. Even if you go in the store with a specific task in mind and a list of exactly what you need....there is bound to be a few detours along the way. The Decoration Committee (for the Harvest Festival) recently went to lunch and shopping for decorations. Throughout the party store and the dollar store, there were many....diversions... to deal with. Good thing Heather always has her camera in her purse to capture our ABC's (Amusing Beehive Commotion)!

Good. Sports.

Okay, so we probably aren't heading to the US Olympic Volleyball Team trials anytime soon, but...gosh! When we are all this cute, we don't have to be great athletes too! Our leaders are so proud of us, and the Beehives have pretty much carried our volleyball team this year. Good job, girls, for sacrificing your Saturday mornings to come out and play! You are all champions!

At the Cabin

Gas to drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Wright's cabin: $10.00
Pizza for 10 hungry girls for dinner: $30.00
Watching your leaders draw their names with their...uh..bottoms: Priceless!

We had a great time at Carla's cabin, eating, playing games, working on Personal Progress, and preparing for the Harvest Festival. Carla, Tonya, Heather, and Karen all spent the night with us too! Just for the record, this slideshow below doesn't actually contain the moving footage of Carla and Tonya "dancing" their name, but who knows when and where that film may actually show up???

Take me to the Temple!

Going to the temple someday to be sealed to that special man is the goal of every Beehive. But in the meantime, there is much we can do at the temple. Our ward has a goal to do 1000 baptisms for the dead this year! We reached our goal last year, but can we do it again? Every visit to the temple helps us reach our goal! To learn more about the purpose of temples and the performance of baptisms for the dead, you can read about it here. Thanks to all of the girls who have made sacrifices to perform these importance ordinances.

Beehive Bee-uty with Bobbi Brown

Beehives are always bee-utiful! But it was still fun to have Kim Kapinos from Bobbi Brown Costmetics come and give us some tips on skin care and makeup. We learned to use makeup to enhance our natural beauty...not to cover it up! Then several of us got some light makeovers, including one of our advisors, Sheri! We all went home looking and feeling beautiful!

Inflatable Flip Flops?

Okay, so they're not really inflatable...but they are made with balloons. The best part of this activity was seeing how different everyone made their flip flops. Some were totally random, others had specific patterns and colors. All of them turned out adorable, just like the artists who created them!

Summer Fun

It's great to be 12 or 13 years old, isn't it? In fact, the only time we wish we were 14 is when Youth Conference rolls around. (Well, okay...maybe on region dance nights too.) But this year, we decided that while the older girls were away at their activities, we'd make some fun of our own. We had an afternoon and evening full of activites, spending time together, and getting to know one another better. We went swimming, ate pizza, gave ourselves pedicures and manicures. We worked on personal progress and played some games. We all brought a few clothing items from home and did a clothing exchange with one another. And finally, when it got dark, we spread out on blankets to watch Enchanted on an outdoor big screen in the back yard.

Heber Valley Camp

The Heber Valley Camp was a beautiful setting for this year's girl's camp. We had several new girls attend: Kendra, Katie, Kalli, Sierra, and Reagan. Some of the camp highlights were Paulette as the Queen Bee, our ward's frog winning the Frog Jumping Contest, the food, not having to pitch tents, the Challenge Course, canoeing, and the Mountain Man competition. Here's a few slide shows to remind us of what a great time we had!
